We are Emily and Jacob Hatch. A husband and wife team of wedding photographers located in Memphis, TN, dedicated to expressing your story the way it deserves to be told. We believe there is more to your wedding day than phenomenal photographs in definite angles. We want to document the emotions of your adventure into the wonderful art of marriage. We tend to focus on the emotion behind couples whether they are fun and spirited or a serene and intimate pair, we take the real moments and bring them to life.

A LITTLE ABOUT US :

We met at a heavy metal show in Memphis, TN in 2011.
He stole my drumstick and I just never left him alone after that ;) We take road trips whenever we can. He drives, I stare out the window. Of course we have our typical road snacks, Hot Fries and Trolli Sour Worms. Jacob is laid back and goes with the flow while I make plans 15 months in advance. We are total opposites but alike in so many other ways. We are avid Netflix bingers and probably the main reason General Mills and Kellogg's are still in business. (not really but you get it, we like cereal.)

Jacob and I work as a team. In everything. Except in sports. One of us has to be better. LOL

We have three beautiful boys, which are all boy in every way. Bray is 13, Aiden is 10 and Forrest is 5. They are professional fort builders, Chick-Fil-A enthusiasts, LEGO master-builders and skilled Jenga players who share an ever growing love for adventure just like we do.

adventures, riding with the windows down, bowling on wednesday nights, drive in theaters, backyard burgers (this is an emily like, yum), netflix original series, The Memphis Zoo, homemade chocolate pie, Thanksgiving in Chapel Hill, DIY projects, concerts/rock shows, Season 3 Episode 13 on Parks and Recreation, oh and anything Parks and Rec related.

OUR APPROACH

Our philosophy behind Emily + Jacob is to illustrate and celebrate love.

We don't want to just take photographs, we want to tell your story.

We attract couples that are just like us. They are usually timid, shy or "awkward" at first but if you put enough fire in their soul, they become wild. My greatest accomplishment is having clients approach me with the uneasy feeling of being in front of a camera and leaving with the confidence they should have been wearing their whole life. Its an intricate feeling, to help someone feel comfortable. Not flawless, not "on fleek", not model stat, just..... comfortable with being themselves. We focus more on the little fleeting moments between two people and how they hold each other. We focus on the way he watches your hair dance in the wind. We focus on the way you grasp his shirt as he pulls you in for a kiss.

We are so passionate about the art of marriage and we want to be able to express that for our clients. We take the art of photography and utilize it to its fullest potential to reach our clients and personalize their stories. We believe in the raw, tender moments and capturing the intimacy between you as one. We believe in laughter and candid moments. We live for the real instances that make you reach in and see it with your heart. We focus on the small things like yours and his fingers interlocked while holding hands, him grabbing your waist as he leans in to lightly kiss your collar bone, that soft smile you get when he whispers in your ear or that outburst of laughter when he brings up old memories. We have a passion to create art that can be hung on the wall in your family home and appear timeless for you and your future generations to cherish.
