Guest House at Graceland
To say we felt welcomed as we walked through the door of Guest House would be an understatement. Every staff member we passed gave to us both a warm greeting and a sincere smile.
We checked in with ease, and made our way down the hall and to the elevators. Unfortunately, our wandering eyes led us to the wrong wing of the hotel. The view from the hallway windows, and the curious carpet/wall decor quickly snatched our interest. A member of housekeeping was kind enough to not only tell us where to correct wing was, but she stopped what she was doing to walk us there.
The door opens to our room, and we are greeted with more beautiful window light and some 1950’s Elvis background music. (which happened to be our favored Elvis. *thumbs up*
We sat for just a moment to enjoy the view inside of our room and from our window before heading back downstairs.
The Theatre area was our next stop. Its front lobby had a very different feel than the main entrance lobby. (Once again, we took an interest in the wall decor.) After turning a few corners and a handful of additional ‘welcomings’ from the staff, we reached a stunning staircase/chandelier combo.
Living in the Memphis area our whole lives, neither of us have ever experienced Graceland. It was a very short walk around the corner to make a visit, however, the tours were closed due to a remodeling/expansion. The staff had the Meditation Gardens open to the public at the time, so we made a quick stop through before preparing for dinner at Delta’s.
Back to the room, which means back through the retro hallways :) Since we were ready early for dinner, how about a bottle of wine and some low-light pictures? Maybe a few weird ones in this curtain? Perfect.
Whether or not we were expected for dinner, Delta's definitely made us feel like honored quests. Right from the start, I can tell the service would be exceptional. The wonderful service would go hand-in-hand with the food to come. We start with a crispy bacon salad, and move on to a juicy & tender steak and vegetables. Our waitressed advised that their Banana Pudding was a must-have, so we decided to take her up on the offer. Good decision, Hatches. As we left and were thanked for spending the evening with Delta’s, we began to look forward to breakfast with them in the morning.
We carried our stuffed bellies back to our room to settle down for the night. Our nightly habits consists of watching Netflix, which isn’t always doable when away from home. *Turns on TV, finds Netflix app*
Feeling more and more welcomed <3
We were invited back to Delta's for breakfast in the morning, which was just as enjoyable as the dinner. After breakfast, we checked out and were thanked sincerely for our stay. Quite similar to the start of our stay with Guest House at Graceland, our exit was just as kind and warming.
